Rob Cohen has come aboard to direct Crash Bandits, an action-adventure movie being made by Millennium Films.
The project centers on the rivalry between two treasure hunters who specialize in salvaging old plane wrecks. When they get a bead on the ultimate prize, they find themselves in a race against each other that puts lives at risk.
Michael Stokes wrote the original script, but Cohen will do a rewrite as part of his development deal.

Mark Canton, Kevin King, Wayne Duband, and Johnny Martin are producing.
Avi Lerner, Trevor Short, Mark Gill, Boaz Davidson and John Thompson are executive producing.
The project almost got off the ground when it was being produced by Bauer Martinez Studios and had John McTiernan on board to direct and Hayden Christensen to star.
Cohen has made a career out of directing action movies and counts The Fast and the Furious, XXX and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor among his credits. He most recently directed Alex Cross for Summit.
