Rob Corddry, Kal Penn and Matt Barr have joined The Layover, William H. Macy’s road-trip comedy.
The movie, which began shooting this week, stars Alexandra Daddario and Kate Upton as a pair of lifelong best friends on vacation who find that their plane has been rerouted to St. Louis due to a hurricane.
Corddry will play a principal — and a nemesis to Daddario’s character — while Penn will play a hotel manager.
Barr will play the male lead of the movie, a young man for whose affection the girls ruthlessly compete.
Macy will also appear in the movie.
Keith Kjarval of Unified Pictures and Aaron L. Gilbert of Bron Studios are producing. Patricia Cox is executive producing, as is Jason Cloth of Creative Wealth Media Finance.
Corddry has HBO’s Ballers as his next major project, and he created and stars in Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim show Childrens Hospital. He is repped by WME, Principato Young Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson.
Penn co-stars on CBS’ Battle Creek, the cop show co-created by Vince Gilligan. He is repped by Gersh and Industry Entertainment.
Barr can be seen on TV’s Sleepy Hollow. He is repped by UTA, Luber Roklin and attorney Allison Binder.
