Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is getting a rap rock makeover.
A new fan trailer pairs footage from the upcoming Star Wars film with the Beastie Boys classic “Sabotage.” The trailer takes a cue from this summer’s Star Trek Beyond, which used the song in its promotion as well as during a key scene in the film.
The reaction online for the trailer has been strong, which is ironic considering there was a bit of an outcry when the first teaser for Star Trek Beyond, which featured the song, was cited as a cause of concern online, with fans worrying it proved director Justin Lin had turned Star Trek into his other franchise, The Fast and the Furious. Those worries proved to be unfounded, with fans going on to embrace Beyond.
As for Star Wars, it’s been a good week for fan-made trailers, with another trailer imagining an Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone film taking place after Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith.
Rogue One is set for Dec. 16.
