COLOGNE, Germany – Andreas Rothbauer is stepping down as head of theatrical sales and international acquisitions at Germany’s Beta Cinema after 12 years at the company.
Rothbauer helped build up the theatrical sales division at Beta and had been a key part of the international sales of such Oscar-nominated and winning films as The Lives of Others, Downfall and, most recently, In Darkness.
Wearing his acquisitions hat, Rothbauer picked up titles including the Oscar-nominated Il Divo and Mongol for Beta.
“Looking back to the beginnings, I am very proud of what we all have achieved so far with Beta Cinema and the reputation it has gained over the years…yet personally speaking the time has come to look out for new, professional endeavors after this long and rewarding period.”
Rothbauer declined to give details of his future plans.
