Russell Wolfe, God’s Not Dead producer and co-star, died Wednesday in Scottsdale, Arizona of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He was 50.
The Pure Flix founding partner and producer was diagnosed with ALS in December 2013 and released the faith-based film God’s Not Dead through Pure Flix in 2014.
“As one of the founding partners of Pure Flix, Russell always represented the vision to make a positive impact in our culture for Christ. He did this consistently through his work, life and relationships,” Pure Flix founding partner and God’s Not Dead producer David A.R. White said in a statement. “Working beside Russell has been an honor and he will be profoundly missed.”
Pure Flix was founded in 2005 and has produced, acquired, marketed and distributed nearly 100 faith and family-friendly properties.
Up until his death, Wolfe continued his work in the industry, most recently producing the upcoming spring 2016 release of God’s Not Dead 2.
Wolfe is survived by his wife, Alysoun, and their two children.
