Saban Films is in negotiations for the U.S. distribution rights to How to Make Love Like an Englishman, starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek and Jessica Alba.
The film centers on a Cambridge University professor (Brosnan) who meets his match in Hayek’s character and reevaluates his hedonistic lifestyle when he gets her graduate student stepsister (Alba) pregnant. Tom Vaughan (What Happens in Vegas) directed, and screenwriter Matthew Newman is making his feature debut with the comedy.
The project would be the latest addition to a fast-expanding slate for the distribution company launched earlier this year by producer Haim Saban. Its first acquisition was Tommy Lee Jones‘ western The Homesman, which co-stars Hilary Swank and is building awards buzz. Its other films include the John Travolta art heist film The Forger and the Nicholas Cage thriller The Trust.
