The Sarasota Film Festival has unveiled a new programming team ahead of the 2015 edition of the festival.
Michael Dunaway will serve as director of programming along with programmers Maggie MacKay, Derek Horne and Caley Fagerstrom. Nadine Zylberberg is the social media manager.
“The Sarasota Film Festival is thrilled to welcome this outstanding creative team,” said festival president Mark Famiglio in a statement. “This talented group with varied backgrounds will allow the festival to present the hearts and minds of independent films to our ever-expanding audience.”
Dunaway is currently the film editor at Paste Magazine and the founding partner of Gasoline Films and Poitier & Dunaway Motion Pictures. MacKay has more than 14 years of experience as a festival programmer including working at Sundance and AFI Fest. She most recently served as senior programmer of the L.A. Horne has 20 years of experience working for various film festivals including Sundance, the Anaheim International Film Festival, the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, the Newport Beach Film Festival and the Santa Fe Independent Film Festival. Fagerstrom previously worked in programming at the Sarasota Film Festival and has also served as a production apprentice at the Telluride Film Festival.
The 17th annual Sarasota Film Festival is set to take place from April 10-19.
