The first trailer for Goon hits all the ice hockey clichés: fights, blood, bad teeth, boozing and screaming fans.
Seann William Scott (Stiffler from American Pie) stars as a nightclub bouncer with an affinity for fighting who joins a down-and-out hockey team to add a little punch to its step. Liev Schreiber, sporting a hefty mustache, co-stars as a rival hockey player.

The film also features Alison Pill (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and Kim Coates (Sons of Anarchy).
The film, which is based on the book Goon: The True Story of an Unlikely Journey into Minor League Hockey, screened at the Toronto International Film Festival, and was picked up by Magnet Releasing — Magnolia Pictures’ genre division. Sources say the sale is in the roughly $2 million range.
Goon is directed by Michael Dowse (Take Me Home Tonight) and written by Jay Baruchel (who starred in Tropic Thunder) and Evan Goldberg (writer, Pineapple Express and Superbad).
