Atsushi NishijimaDirector Ava DuVernay‘s Selma is getting another push in theaters, only this time there’s a two-for-one ticket offer at participating venues.
Paramount announced Wednesday that the drama, starring David Oyelowo as Martin Luther King Jr., will play in 702 theaters on Friday in honor of the 50th anniversary of the civil rights march from Selma to Montgomery, the subject of the film. The anniversary of the march was March 7.
The special two-for-one ticket deal is for a limited time, according to Paramount.
Selma, first opening in select theaters Dec. 25, has grossed $51.4 million to date. The movie won an Oscar and Golden Globe for best original song for John Legend and Common‘s “Glory.” It was also nominated for an Oscar and Globe for best picture.
Oprah Winfrey produced Selma alongside Christian Colson, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Klein. Gardner and Klein run Brad Pitt‘s Plan B, with Pitt executive producing.
