Citizens of Selma, Ala. will get to see the Martin Luther King Jr. film that was shot in their city for free. Paramount is making Selma available at the Selma Walton Theater beginning Jan. 9.

“With deep gratitude to the people of Selma, Alabama, we are proud to share this powerful film depicting the historic events that took place there 50 years ago,” Oprah Winfrey on behalf of her fellow producers. “I hope generations will watch the film and share their stories of remembrance and history together.”
Selma, from director Ava DuVernay, stars David Oyelowo as King. It is nominated for four Golden Globes. Selma citizens can find information on screenings here.
