PARIS — Shia LaBeouf will serve double duty in Cannes when the Lawless actor presents his short film Howard Cantour.com during Critics Week, the sidebar’s organizers said on Wednesday.
LaBeouf may be best known for his on-screen antics in blockbusters like Transformers or Wall Street, but the actor has also produced several music videos including Linkin Park’s New Divide, Kid Cudi’s Marijuana and Cage’s I Never Knew You. He also produced a short film Born Villain for Marilyn Manson’s last album. LaBoeuf directed his first short film Maniac in 2011.
Howard Cantour.com, the story of a film critic played by Jim Gaffigan, is LaBeouf’s own quirky critique of film critics and will get a special screening in the Critics Week sidebar May 18.
LaBeouf also stars in John Hillcoat‘s Lawless that will screen in official competition.
