Kraven the Hunter could have found its director. Triple Frontier helmer J.C. Chandor is in talks for the Sony Spider-Man spinoff that will focus on the villain, also known as Sergei Kravinoff, a big game hunter who sees Spider-Man as his ultimate prize.
Kraven would join a series of Sony backed Spider-Man spin-offs, including Tom Hardy’s Venom: Let Their Be Carnage, as well as Jared Leto’s Morbius, which are both due out in 2021. The studio also has a third Tom Holland Spider-Man movie in the works with Marvel Studios.
Art Marcum and Matt Holloway are writing and Matt Tolmach and Avi Arad are producing.
Kraven would be the first studio comic book feature for Chandor, whose credits largely consist of dramas, including Margin Call and A Most Violent Year. He is repped by CAA.
