M. Night Shyamalan and Blumhouse productions re-team for the horror film Split, which is due out in theaters on Jan. 20, 2017.
X-Men‘s James McAvoy will star in Universal’s supernatural suspense thriller, alongside Anya Taylor Joy, Betty Buckley, Jessica Sula and Haley Lu Richardson.
The film is the follow-up to the director and production company’s last collaboration The Visit, which grossed $89 million at the worldwide box office with a budget of only $5 million.
Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will return to produce the film, as he did with The Visit. Marc Bienstock will also produce, and Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider will act as executive producers.
Split takes over the Untitled Blumhouse Productions title, which was previously dated for release on Jan. 27, 2017.
