The Force is apparently going to be strong in selected theaters this Thanksgiving weekend.
Following rumors about Disney’s plan for the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the website for the Regal Entertainment Group theater chain not only revealed that the trailer will debut “at select North America theaters” this Friday, but also listed the locations where the trailer will play.
The site reports that the trailer for J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars movie will appear before all movies playing in the following nine theaters from Nov. 28 – 30. Whether or not the trailer will also play at theaters owned by other chains or be released online simultaneously has not yet been revealed. Disney and Lucasfilm have released no information about the trailer to date.
The list of theaters due to play the trailer, as revealed by Regal:
Irvine, CA: Edwards Irvine Spectrum 22 & IMAX
San Diego, CA: Edwards Mira Mesa Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
Atlanta, GA: Regal Atlantic Station Stadium 18 IMAX & RPX
Chicago, IL: Regal City North Stadium 14 IMAX & RPX

However, shortly after the news broke Regal Entertainment updated its to remove any mention of the locations and dates, instead replacing the information with a image of Star Wars character Mon Mothma with a caption reading “Many Bothans died to bring us this information,” along with additional text inviting readers to “Check back soon for a list of participating Regal Cinemas locations!!!”
