Jane Levy and Stephen Lang have signed on to star in Fede Alvarez’s untitled thriller.
Dylan Minnette and Daniel Zovatto are already on board to star, as The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported.
The Ghost House Pictures project, previously called A Man in the Dark, is now untitled. It follows three teens who get away with perfectly planned home robberies as they set out for their final, and biggest, heist. But when they break into the home of a reclusive blind man, the tables are turned and they find themselves fighting for survival against a vengeful man with secrets of his own.
Lang will play the blind man and Levy is the female lead.
Alvarez will direct and co-wrote the script with Rodo Sayagues. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert will produce for Ghost House Pictures. J.R. Young, Nathan Kahane, Joe Drake and Erin Westerman will executive produce. The film will shoot this summer in Budapest and Detroit.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions picked up worldwide distribution rights to the film last fall at the American Film Market. The film will be released by Sony on Aug. 26, 2016.
Dan Freedman negotiated the deals for Ghost House Pictures.
Lang stars in the TV series Salem, and is known for his work in feature films Avatar, Conan the Barbarian and The Men Who Stare at Goats. He will next be seen on AMC’s Into the Badlands and the crime comedy Band of Robbers, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival. He’s repped by Innovative Artists.
Levy is reuniting with Alvarez, whom she worked with on Ghost House Pictures’ Evil Dead. She also starred on the TV series Suburgatory, and her film credits include Fun Size and the upcoming Monster Trucks. She’s repped by WME, Burstein Co. and Sloane Offer.
