Stephen Lang, Jill Wagner and Garret Dillahunt have joined Braven, the Jason Momoa action-thriller from Highland Film Group.
Lin Oeding is directing the movie, which began shooting this week in Newfoundland, Canada.
Braven tells the story of a humble logger, Joe Braven (Momoa), and his family, who are confronted by a group of deadly drug runners at their secluded cabin in the mountains along the U.S./Canada border. Under these circumstances, Braven must do everything in his power to protect the ones he loves most.
Lang will play Braven’s father, a man suffering from dementia, while Wagner will portray his wife, who happens to be a skilled archer.
Dillahunt is the pic’s main antagonist, one of the drug runners.
Thomas Pa’a Sibbett wrote the screenplay, based off an original story by Mike Nilon.
Momoa and Brian Mendoza’s Pride of Gypsies banner is producing alongside Nilon and Molly Hassell. Executive producing are HFG’s Arianne Fraser and Delphine Perrier.
Lang, repped by Innovative Artists, currently appears on AMC action show Into the Badlands and is set to appear in the new Avatar movie, reprising his role as the villain.
Wagner, repped by Nu Talent Agency, appeared on MTV’s Teen Wolf and was co-host of ABC summer reality show Wipeout.
Dillahunt, repped by UTA, recently appeared on The Mindy Project and Justified.
