Warner Bros. Games and DC revealed on Saturday the new action-adventure shooter game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Developed by Rocksteady Studios, the game includes an original narrative set in the DC Universe and taking place in an open-world Metropolis. The story follows familiar Suicide Squad characters Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Boomerang and King Shark, who must save the Earth and kill the all-powerful Justice League.
All are playable in the game, with each character showcasing different unique abilities that help them explore the environment and wield customizable weapons.
“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League showcases Rocksteady Studios’ ability to combine masterful storytelling and compelling gameplay based on well-known DC characters,” said David Haddad, president, Warner Bros. Games, in a statement. “The team is creating a genre-defining experience that brings the formidable Suicide Squad to life in a way that has never been done before.”
Sefton Hill, creative director and co-founder of Rocksteady Studios, added, “We’re introducing an original take on the Suicide Squad that combines the rich, character-driven storytelling Rocksteady is known for with innovative gameplay features to create a unique gaming experience.”
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases in 2022 on next-gen consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X, as well as PC. The game can be played solo or with up to 4 players in an online co-op mode.
