Rose McGowan will make her feature directorial debut with The Pines, a psychological thriller written by Alex Mar to be produced by Sundial Pictures and Tangerine Entertainment. McGowan’s short film Dawn premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.
The film, which is scheduled for a fall shoot in upstate New York, follows a troubled young woman who becomes involved with a family of healers.
Sundial Pictures, a production and distribution company, is head by principals Morgan White, Joey Carey and Stefan Nowicki.
Founded by Amy Hobby and Anne Hubbell, Tangerine Entertainment is a production company focusing on films by women directors.
McGowan is repped by Innovative Artists.
