The opening moments of the first teaser for Super Troopers 2 is a ball-shaving scene. So it appears fans are going to get the same kind of humor that Broken Lizard delivered in the original 16 years ago.
All the boys are back: Mac, Thorny, Rabbit, Foster, and, of course, Farva.
The trailer runs a little more than a minute and doesn’t reveal any real plot points other than that the fan-favorite goofy, outrageous Vermont State Troopers are back.
It is also clear from the teaser that the sequel will be rated a hard ‘R,’ like its predecessor.
Jim Gaffigan appears in the trailer as the same guy who was harassed with the meow game when he was pulled over in the 2001 movie.
Broken Lizard secured production funds for the Super Troopers sequel through a crowdfunding campaign via Indiegogo, which raised more than $4.6 million.
Directed by Jay Chandrasekhar and starring Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter, Steve Lemme, Erik Stolhanske, Kevin Heffernan, Brian Cox and Marisa Coughlan, Super Troopers 2 is set to released by Fox Searchlight on April 20, 2018.
