Danielle Panabaker and Nicole LaLiberte star as two young women who decide they’ve had enough from the men of the world and go on a killing spree in Manhattan. Liam Aiken, Michael Stahl-David and Andrew Howard co-star in the darkly comic psychological thriller, which has hints of revenge-flavored flicks Thelma and Louise and Baise-moi.
Aimee Shieh and Clay Floren produced. Paradigm’s Ben Weiss, repping the sale for the filmmakers, negotiated the deal with Anchor Bay’s Josh Thomashow and Michele Sanchez.
“The film is a perfect addition to our 2012 line-up,” Kevin Kasha, executive vp, acquisitions and co-productions for Anchor Bay, said. The acquisition was announced by Anchor Bay president of entertainment Bill Clark.
K5 is handling sales on the film internationally.
Anchor Bay acquired the violent Midnighter entry The Divide, directed by Xavier Gens, at the 2011 SXSW Film Festival.
Chick has also written and directed XX/XY and directed August. Foren Shieh Prods. is in post-production on The Proxy, a sci-fi drama from director Dan Bush and producer Alex Motlagh.
