Bille Woodruff (Honey) is directing the film for Queen Latifah‘s production company Flavor Unit Entertainment. Jorva Entertainment Prods. is fully financing the film and co-producing with Flavor Unit.
Written by Dana Verde, Gary Hardwick and Brandon Broussard, the film explores what happens when a successful playboy meets his match. Hawk will portray a spiritual guru. Shooting began last week in Los Angeles.
Latifah, Jenkins, Patton are producing along with Shakim Compere, Alex Avant, Yaneley Arty and Jorva president Johnson Chan.
Patton, who starred opposite Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, will next be seen in Universal’s Warcraft, based on the popular video game. She is repped by CAA, More/Medavoy Management and Sloane Offer Weber.
Jenkins, who is the co-anchor of E! News for the E! Network as well as the author of the best-selling memoir The Wealth of My Mother’s Wisdom, reteams with Patton after appearing together in Baggage Claim. His recent credits include the Entourage movie and the Think Like a Man films. He is handled by WME and Principato-Young.
Hawk — whose credits include Bridesmaids, Peeples, Couples Retreat and New Girl — co-stars on Cartoon Network’s hit series Black Jesus. Hawk can next be seen opposite Taryn Manning in the coming-of-age drama A Light Beneath Their Feet. She is repped by manager Tim Taylor of Luber Roklin and attorney Matthew Wallerstein.
Sopranos alum Pantoliano is represented by APA and attorney Paul Mayersohn. Woodruff’s deal was negotiated by APA and Greenlight Management.
