Terry Curtin has joined Bob Simonds‘ STX Entertainment as head of strategic marketing and global communications.
Curtin, who has been working behind the scenes for weeks at STX, is among several key hires rounding out the company’s film marketing and publicity department. The other new STX executives are creative advertising and branding chief Keri Moore, media and marketing innovation head Amy Elkins and global digital marketing chief Andrew Runyon.
Their arrivals, coming as the company prepares to release its first movie, The Gift, on July 31, were announced by STX president and chief content officer Oren Aviv and president of theatrical marketing Jack Pan.
Curtin has done stints at Relativity Media, Universal, Disney and Fox.
“Jack Pan and these new additions to his team were selected based on their deep experience, combined with their ability to jump into the process at the earliest stage to create an innovative campaign vision from step one,” said Aviv.
Added Pan: “With these new additions, we have assembled a team of uniquely qualified and deeply experienced marketers who will keep us at the forefront of this dynamically evolving consumer marketplace. Each of these talents is distinguished in their field yet also brings an interdisciplinary and entrepreneurial spirit to STX Entertainment that aligns with our goals for creating distinctively pioneering campaigns. We could not be more proud to welcome Terry, Keri, Amy and Andrew to our growing team.”
