Sam Worthington is on a roll.
Texas Killing Fields marks the Avatar star’s latest film, this one set for release Oct. 14. Co-star Jessica Chastain is also on a bit of a tear, having starred in Take Shelter, The Tree of Life, The Help and the upcoming Coriolanus and The Debt (which also stars Worthington).
Texas Killing Fields marks the feature directorial debut of Ami Canaan Mann and revolves around two men (Worthington and Jeffrey Dean Morgan) who investigate the Texas “Killing Fields,” an area of Texas where several women have been murdered. Chloe Moretz plays a girl who may be the next target.
The R-rated thriller from Anchor Bay is inspired by the true story of two detectives. “You don’t know how close to the edge you are,” Worthington, sporting a Southern accent, tells Morgan.
