Tobey Maguire is getting behind the camera.
The actor is set to direct an adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s best-selling thriller Blood on Snow, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
Maguire’s Material and Lawrence Grey’s Grey Matter Productions acquired the screen rights to the 2015 Norwegian novel, based on which Nesbo will pen the script.
Blood on Snow centers on Olav, a contract killer in Oslo who, when instructed to kill his adulterous wife, falls into a meditation on death and love, and opts instead to pursue his boss’ rival.
Maguire’s Material partner Matthew Plouffe is also producing. Grey Matter’s Ben Everard, Nesbo and his agent Niclas Salomonsson are executive producers.
Maguire, who is featured in the voice cast of Fox’s The Boss Baby, is also producing Robin Bissell’s civil rights drama The Best of Enemies, starring Taraji P. Henson. He is repped by WME and Management 360.
