Following The Hollywood Reporter‘s report of sexual misconduct on a 2003 film set involving an 11-year-old actress, actor Tom Sizemore has been dropped as the lead in horror-thriller The Door.
“The producers take these allegations very seriously and are discussing next steps now,” said a spokesperson for Global Genesis Group, the company behind the film.
The Door follows a married couple that moves into a home where, in the late ‘50s, Dr. Lazarus Saint and his young son Vincent were killed in a house fire. When people who visit their home begin to mysteriously die, the wife discovers the ghost of the young Vincent who warns her that her husband is becoming the dead Lazarus.
Sizemore was removed from the set of Born Killers (which was shot as Piggy Banks), according to the film producers, and dropped by his then-agency CAA, following the actress coming forward saying he touched her genitals.
He is best known for his roles in Saving Private Ryan and Black Hawk Down. He was last seen in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival and USA Network’s drama Shooter.
