Horror veteran Tony Todd is ready to jump into another franchise.
The actor has joined the cast of horror-comedy #FromJennifer, the third installment of the found-footage Jennifer series. The film centers on a struggling actress named Jennifer (Danielle Taddei), who gets dropped by her manager because her social media following is not large enough. After losing her grip on reality, Jennifer dedicates herself to a strange plot for revenge in an attempt to gain Internet fame.
Todd will play Jennifer’s eccentric manager, whose actions push the actress to take desperate measures to become famous.
#FromJennifer is described as a spiritual sequel to To Jennifer (2013) and 2 Jennifer (2016) and features a stand-alone story and characters connected to the previous installments — through themes such as obsession and surveillance. The first two films were shot entirely on the iPhone, while the latest film — which has wrapped principal photography— was shot using multiple GoPro cameras.
Todd is known for playing the titular character in the Candyman series as well as his work in Night of the Living Dead and the Final Destination franchise. He’s also known for giving what is considered one of the finest guest-starring performances in Star Trek history, with his work as an older Jake Sisko still revered by Deep Space Nine fans.
#FromJennifer is from writer-director Frank Merle and also stars Derek Mears, Aaron Abrams, Meghan Deanna Smith and Trae Ireland.
Merle and Hunter Johnson are producing, with James Cullen Bressack and Warren Croyle serving as executive producers. Sector 5 Films is handling distribution and also release the previous two installments on VOD.
