Topher Grace will star in Home, a supernatural thriller that Jason Blum and his Blumhouse have come aboard to produce. Universal will distribute the picture per its first look deal with Blumhouse.
Additionally, Patricia Clarkson is in negotiations to co-star in the project, which will be directed by Dennis Iliadis, best known as the helmer behind the 2009 remake of The Last House on the Left.
Adam Alleca wrote the script, which centers on a man (Grace), recently released from a mental institute, who inherits a mansion after his parents die. After a series of disturbing events, he comes to believe it is haunted.
The project was initially set up with Wes Craven’s Craven/Maddalena Films and even had Brittany Snow attached to star at one point.
Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way partner Jennifer Killoran then teamed up with Graham King to produce the project, but it gained traction in the last couple of months when Blum became involved.
Blum is now producing with DiCaprio, Killoran and King.

Grace recently wrapped shooting a turn in Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated sci-fi movie Interstellar and has the crime thriller The Calling, with Susan Sarandon and Donald Sutherland, in the can. He is repped by ICM Partners, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Gendler & Kelly.
Clarkson appeared in last year’s The East and recently wrapped The Maze Runner, Fox’s adaptation of the James Dashner YA novel. She is repped by CAA and Anonymous Content.
