Jason Reitman is looking for Hollywood stars at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival to play Fezzik and Inigo Montoya’s father for his live stage read of The Princess Bride.
The Labor Day director will unveil the cast for this year’s Toronto table read of the classic-movie script in the days leading up to the Sept. 12 live event.
“In 1987, Princess Bride won Toronto Film Festival. On Sept. 12, we’re going to pay tribute to that perfect script,” said Reitman Thursday via Twitter of the Rob Reiner fairy-tale movie, which earned that year’s People’s Choice Award.
Reitman previously has enlisted Hollywood stars at film festivals to participate in his live reads, while he provides narrative direction. The Montreal-born director led previous readings of Shampoo (with Bradley Cooper, Lena Dunham and Kate Hudson), The Breakfast Club (with Mindy Kaling, James Van Der Beek and Patton Oswalt) and Ghostbusters (with Seth Rogen, Rainn Wilson and Jack Black).
Reitman recently held a table read at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal that found Jennifer Lawrence and Michael Fassbender reading Joel and Ethan Coen‘s The Big Lebowski.
