TORONTO – Raven Banner Entertainment has snagged the Canadian rights to The Station, the Austrian horror thriller that bowed as part of the Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness program.
Marvin Kren‘s creature feature was earlier acquired by IFC Midnight for the U.S. market.
TORONTO: ‘The Station’ is Austria’s Answer to ‘The Thing’
The Station, starring Gerhard Liebmann, Edita Malovcic, Hille Beseler and Peter Knaack, portrays scientists at a climate outpost in the Alps who discover that a retreating glacier is leaking a red liquid that is mutating the local wildlife.
Kren broke into horror films in 2011 with his debut feature Rammbock.
The deal was negotiated by Annick Mahnert, Michael Paszt and James Fler for Raven Banner, with Sebastien Chesneau of Rezo for the filmmakers.
