Celine Rattray and Trudie Styler announced a new partnership, Maven Pictures, Thursday.
The newly-formed film development, production and financing company will be based in New York and aims to produce three to five films a year. Styler, a BAFTA-nominated producer and filmmaker and Rattray, former president of Mandalay Vision, who won a Golden Globe for producing The Kids Are Alright, will serve as co-founders and partners of the company.
“I love the thrill of discovering an amazing script, a phenomenally talented new filmmaker or a project that screams out that it must be made,” Styler said in a statement.
“Trudie and I want Maven to build a slate that combines smart commercial titles intended for wide release with prestige projects that can play to both the arthouse filmgoer and the movie lover who frequents the local multiplex,” added Rattray.
Hardy Justice will act as senior vp of production and development. Additionally, Jenny Halper was named development executive and Nic Marshall director of operations.
