TORONTO — Former TV wrestling diva Trish Stratus has joined the cast of the Canadian action-thriller Gridlocked from director Allan Ungar.
Stratus, a seven-time WWE women’s champion, will play the role of Gina, a lead member of a SWAT team.
Also boarding Gridlocked is veteran Canadian actor Saul Rubinek, who plays a Hollywood agent.
The movie’s ensemble cast includes Dominic Purcell, Richard Gunn, Stephen Lang, Vinnie Jones, Cody Hackman and Danny Glover.
Gridlocked follows a former SWAT leader (Purcell) who is being shadowed by an arrogant movie star, played by Hackman.
Hackman’s Hackybox Pictures is financing and producing the feature, which is based on a script by Ungar and Rob Robol.
Bruno Marino, Geoff Hart and Jenna Mattison are producing. Gridlocked is shooting in Toronto and London, Ontario.
