In what was a relatively slow weekend in U.K. cinemas, Straight Outta Compton easily held onto the top spot, taking $2.1 million in its second week for a 10-day total of $8.9 million.
Inside Out was also a non-mover, glued to second place with $1.1 in its seventh week. The Pixar film has now spent four consecutive weeks in the second spot and, with $54.9 million, is the fourth most successful animation of all time in the U.K.

The week’s highest newest entry was the Owen Wilson action-thriller No Escape, which took $973,000 and landed in third, two places up from Sundance hit Me and Earl and the Dying Girl, which bowed with $652,000.
The Transporter Refueled and American Ultra tussled over the other newcomer positions, with EuropaCorp’s action reboot coming in seventh with $540,000 compared with the stoner comedy’s $530,000.
This week sees the launch of The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials and Tom Hardy double-act Legend, both of which could battle Straight Outta Compton for the box-office crown.
