LONDON – British production and finance house Pulse Films has brought in former Summit Entertainment highflier Ashley Schlaifer to head its U.S. development and production endeavors.
Based in L.A., Schlaifer is hired as U.S. development and production chief and tasked with the development of a slate of scripted television and film projects.
She will work under the production partnership of CEO Thomas Benski, head of film Lucas Ochoa and U.K. development chief Moss Barclay.
Schlaifer previously worked as an executive at Summit Entertainment, where she developed and produced a number of films including the Bruce Willis-, Helen Mirren– and Morgan Freeman-starrer Red, which grossed nearly $200 million worldwide, and Now You See Me, which she nurtured from script through production and conjured more than $350 million at the worldwide box office.
Schlaifer most recently worked as head of strategic partnerships at The Mobile Audience, focusing on the intersection of technology and entertainment, and working closely with film studios, television networks and music labels to find fresh ways to reach consumers through mobile devices.
“We are delighted to have Ashley join the Pulse team; her experience and skill set will help continue to strengthen our scripted presence in L.A and ensure we remain aligned within the U.S industry,” said Benski.
