“I think it’s fantastic,” Julie Gonzalo gushes when asked about the recent crowd-funding success of Veronica Mars, which finally will allow a film version of the cult classic TV series to be made.
Gonzalo, who stars on TNT’s Dallas reboot, tells The Hollywood Reporter that she might be involved in the project and that if an offer comes to fruition, she’d be thrilled to accept.
“I got word that I could be a part of it,” she says. “Nothing’s for certain, but I would love to be a part of it. That was a really fun gig for me.”

Gonzalo appeared on the show’s third and final season as Parker Lee, Mac’s (Tina Majorino) college roommate who falls victim to the “Hearst College rapist,” known for drugging females, taking advantage of them and then shaving their heads.
“That show was great,” Gonzalo muses. “Kristen Bell is a fantastic actor, and she should definitely do something. I would love to be a part of it for sure.”
In the past week, with just days remaining on the Kickstarter drive, Thomas has informed donors that he already has finished a “too-long” first draft and recently has firmed up Comic-Con plans. “We’re still working with the organizers to figure out if we’ll be holding an official scheduled panel as part of Comic-Con,” Thomas wrote in a letter. “I’ll be there, along with as many of our castmembers as I can bring along, and we’ll be doing an exclusive Q&A session.”
Far surpassing its initial goal of $2 million, the project already has brought in more than $5 million in fan donations.
