Canadian movie producer Brightlight Pictures has inked a five-movie sales deal with Nicolas Chartier‘s Voltage Pictures.
The three-year non-exclusive sales agency deal will start with Shawn Williamson‘s Brightlight shingle co-producing the Anne Hathaway starrer Colossal, to be directed by Nacho Vigalondo. Production on Colossal, which also stars Jason Sudeikis, will start later this fall in Vancouver.
Williamson and Vigalondo’s longtime producing partner, Nahikari Ipiña of Sayaka Producciones, will share producing credits. Vancouver-based Brightlight earlier worked with Voltage on Robert Redford‘s The Company You Keep, which also shot in and around Vancouver.
“Knowing Nic for as long as I have, I look forward to continuing our collaborative efforts. Voltage has shown itself to be one of the leading international sales outfits and we are excited to have them representing our productions,” Brightlight’s Williamson said in a statement.
Voltage’s upcoming releases include Fathers and Daughters, directed by Gabriele Muccino and starring Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried and Aaron Paul, and The Secret Scripture, directed by Jim Sheridan, with Rooney Mara starring.
