Kevin McCormick will produce via his Langley Park Pictures banner.
The Ghostman centers on a man who aids bank robbers in disappearing after they pull off their heists.
Leonardo DiCaprio‘s Appian Way Productions was among the suitors interested in acquiring rights to the novel, according to a source.
Hobbs’ novel will be released by Knopf in 2013. The 23-year-old writer recently graduated from Reed College; Orion will release another of his novels, Vanishing Games, in 2014. Separately, Warner Bros. has inked a blind script deal with Hobbs.
He is represented by literary management company Intellectual Property Group and literary agency Sobel Weber Associates.
McCormick is the producer behind Arthur (2011) and The Gangster Squad, which is set for release in September and stars Ryan Gosling and Sean Penn.
