Before Matthew McConaughey became the famous Hollywood personality he is today, he was a University of Texas student auditioning for Dazed and Confused. Now, thanks to Criterion, his fans get to see his audition tape from when he tried out for the part of Wooderson in the Richard Linklater classic.
Unsurprisingly, it looks like Wooderson’s epic swagger and comments about high school girls came naturally to McConaughey from the very beginning. Also, his golden locks are pretty amazing.
To think, this all started with McConaughey drinking at a Hyatt hotel bar with casting director Don Phillips.
