The Weinstein Company has acquired U.S. distribution rights to the Miley Cyrus action comedy So Undercover. An October release is planned.
Tom Vaughan directed the film, in which Cyrus plays a woman hired by the FBI to infiltrate a college sorority to protect the daughter of a one-time mobster. Jeremy Piven, Mike O’Malley and Kelly Osbourne co-star.
Allan Loeb and Steven Pearl wrote the screenplay and are producing through their company Scarlet Fire Entertainment along with Tish Cyrus and Exclusive Media Group, which financed the picture. Executive producers are Jodi Zuckerman-Weiner and Rob Cowan.
Exclusive Films International is handling worldwide sales; it sold most major foreign territories at the European Film Market in Berlin last month.
