Kylie Rogers, who appears on ABC’s The Whispers, has nabbed one of the starring roles in Tri-Star’s faith-based drama, Miracles from Heaven.
The project is based on a memoir by Christy Beam and centers on her daughter, who miraculously overcame an incurable, life-threatening digestive disorder. After she was dramatically rescued from a near-death experience, a stunning series of miracles unfolded that left her family, her medical doctors and community baffled and their lives forever changed.
The studio and producers conducted a massive North American search for the actress to play the central role, with Rogers winning the part of the daughter opposite the already cast Jennifer Garner, who is portraying Beam.
Queen Latifah is also in the production, playing a waitress who befriends the sick girl and Beam during their visits to Boston Children’s Hospital.
Patricia Riggen is directing while Joe Roth, T.D. Jakes and DeVon Franklin are producing.
The part is a big break for the 11-year-old Rogers, who recently wrapped a part in Fathers & Daughters with Russell Crowe and was seen in Mojave, the recent indie thriller that starred Oscar Isaac and Mark Walhberg.
She is repped by Innovative Artists, Principato-Young Entertainment and Bloom Hergott.
