Laura Linney was a no-show at Sunday’s Golden Globes, where she won the award for best performance by an actress in a TV series, comedy or musical, for her role on Showtime’s The Big C.
Sadly, the day before the show, her father playwright Romulus Linney, died of lung cancer at his home in Germantown, N.Y. He was 80.
He is also survived by his wife, Laura Callanan, and another daughter, Susan Linney.
The funeral will be private.
