Anya Taylor-Joy, who broke out with the Sundance horror hit The Witch, has signed with CAA.
The Witch tells of a family, with Taylor-Joy at the center of it, dealing with evil supernatural forces in 17th century New England. The movie won the U.S. dramatic directing award at the Sundance Film Festival for its filmmaker Robert Eggers and made the actress a hot commodity.
She nabbed a lead opposite Kate Mara in Fox’s sci-fi thriller Morgan, produced by Scott Free, and is now shooting another leading role, this one opposite James McAvoy, in a supernatural thriller from M. Night Shyamalan.
Taylor-Joy had been taking meetings, and the signing was competitive.
She continues to be repped in the U.K. by Kat Gosling at Troika and attorney Fred Toczek from Felker Toczek.
