Dope actress Kiersey Clemons and Beanie Feldstein, who was most recently seen in indie Fan Girl, are pledging Neighbors 2.
The Universal comedy’s plot is being kept under wraps, but sources say Clemons and Feldstein’s character will be part of the sorority that is lead by Chloe Moretz‘s character.
Nicholas Stoller is returning to direct the sequel based on a script by Andrew Jay Cohen, Brendan O’Brien, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. Stars Rogen, Zac Efron and Rose Byrne are all set to return to reprise their roles from the original, which was a breakout hit when it earned $269 million worldwide after opening in May 2014.
Rogen, Goldberg and James Weaver are producing Neighbors 2 through their Point Grey Pictures, along with Good Universe. Cohen and O’Brien will serve as executive producers alongside Good Universe’s Nathan Kahane and Joseph Drake.
Erik Baiers and Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal, while Erin Westerman is overseeing on behalf of Good Universe.
Neighbors 2 is set to his theaters on May 20, 2016.
Clemons starred in the huge Sundance breakout Dope, which was released by Open Road Films in June. Her other credits include CBS series Extant and Amazon series Transparent. She’s repped by UTA, MJMG and Mach 1 Management.
Feldstein, who is Jonah Hill‘s sister, appeared in indie Fan Girl, which premiered at the 2015 L.A. Film Festival and starred Kiernan Shipka. She’s repped by Paradigm and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
