Zhang Ziyi - Order of Arts and Letters Chevalier - H 2013
Courtesy of B?W?R Public RelationsActress Zhang Ziyi was honored with the Order of Arts and Letters Chevalier in Beijing on Thursday.
The Chinese actress, whose film credits include Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Rush Hour 2 and Memoirs of a Geisha, was presented the medal by French Minister of Culture Aurelie Filippetti.
Established in 1957, The Order of Arts and Letters recognizes significant contributions to the arts, literature or the propagation of these fields.

Zhang, 34, rose to international fame after starring in 2000’s Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. She went on to star in the Oscar-nominated film Hero, Rush Hour 2, House of Flying Daggers and Memoirs of a Geisha. Throughout her career, she has been nominated for three BAFTAs and one Golden Globe Award.
Zhang will next be seen in Wong Kar-wai‘s film The Grandmaster, which follows the martial-arts master who trained Bruce Lee. It hits theaters in the U.S. on Aug. 23 via The Weinstein Co.
Previous recipients of the honor include Jude Law, George Clooney and Penelope Cruz.
