For its 10th anniversary, the Zurich Film Festival will rearrange its competition section to just three main categories.
They are focused on international feature film, international documentary and a third section with films from Switzerland, Germany and Austria. Last year, the festival had a German-language feature film and a Switzerland/Germany/Austria documentary section, which now are being combined into the third section.

Each of the three sections will award a Golden Eye honor for best film, with the prizes for international feature and international documentary sections endowed with a $28,000 (CHF 25,000) cash award and the winner of the Focus sidebar receiving $22,400 (CHF 20,000).
The winning film from each of the three sections also will receive an additional $112,000 (CHF 100,000) worth of distribution support. First, second and third directorial works are eligible for entry in each category.
Zurich also will introduce a new prize for best “Swiss Made” film, awarding $11,200 (CHF 10,000) to the best Swiss feature across all three festival sections.
The 10th Zurich Film Festival runs Sept. 25-Oct. 5.
