Christmas will come a bit early for Spider-Man fans eager for a glimpse of Andrew Garfield‘s second outing as the character. The first trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be released on Dec. 5, according to an announcement made via the movie’s Twitter account this morning.

The details for the “worldwide trailer premiere” remain a mystery for now, beyond mention of a sneak peek on ABC’s Good Morning America that morning. Expect more teases between now and Dec. 5, to try to drive interest in this as high as possible. Surely we can get some kind of a World Wide Web pun before the trailer goes live, right …?
