AFI Fest Award Winners Unveiled

This year's festival screened 130 films from 45 countries.

Another AFI FEST has drawn to a close, and the winners of the Jury and Audience awards have been announced.

The New Auteurs Grand Jury Award winner was the Columbian drama Land and Shade.

Boys was awarded the Grand Jury Award for live action short, while World of Tomorrow took home the prize for animated short.

Disorder received a Special Jury Mention for direction, and Desde Alla received a Special Jury Mention for screenplay.

Mustang took home the New Auteur Audience Award, while James White won the American Independents Audience Award.

The Jury Awards honored films from the New Auteurs section of the festival, which was filled with works from first- and second-time directors.

The Audience Award winners were selected from among 54 films in the following festival sections: American Independents, Breakthrough, New Auteur and World Cinema.

This 2015 AFI Festival featured 130 films that represented 45 countries.
