Another 3-D push at Cannes

Fest will host first look at 'A Christmas Carol'

At this year's Festival de Cannes, Disney will double-dip on the 3-D. The studio will unspool what it describes as a "first look" at Robert Zemeckis' 3-D retelling of "A Christmas Carol" at a press event on the Croisette on May 18.

Stars Jim Carrey and Colin Firth will join Zemeckis at the event for the movie, which is not an official festival selection.

Disney also will use the fest as a launchpad for Pixar's 3-D film "Up," which was previously announced as the fest's opening-night picture.
