The feature co-stars Emma Thompson, playing a late-night talk show host.

30West and FilmNation Entertainment will finance comedy Late Night, which will co-star Mindy Kaling and Emma Thompson.

The Mindy Project creator-star wrote the script that centers on a late-night talk show host (Thompson) who is at risk of losing her long-running show right when she hires her first female writer (Kaling).

The project, which was originally set up at Fox 2000 with Scott Rudin attached to produce, will be produced by Imperative Entertainment and FilmNation Entertainment, who will launch international sales in Berlin. Kaling will also produce, along with Howard Klein.

Transparent director Nisha Ganatra, who has also worked on Mindy Project, will direct the feature, which will begin filming in April.

CAA and 30West will handle U.S. rights.

30West, which is behind awards contender I, Tonya, recently partnered with Bleecker Street to buy the U.S. rights to Sundance drama Colette starring Keira Knightley.

The year, FilmNation will release Dan Fogelman's Life Itself, starring Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde, and The Children Act, starring Thompson.
