Chris and Liam Hemsworth and Gal Gadot, who is taking on the role of Wonder Woman, are among the hottest action stars working today.

This story first appeared in the April 10 issue of The Hollywood Reporter magazine.

Jai Courtney, 29

The Aussie gained attention for playing Bruce Willis' son in 2013's A Good Day to Die Hard and a villain opposite Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher. Now this summer, he's in a starring role as Kyle Reese in Terminator: Genisys and has joined the high-profile cast of Warner Bros.' DC comics pic Suicide Squad.

Gal Gadot, 29

The Israeli actress shot to the action A-list by winning the role of Wonder Woman in 2016's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice and a follow-up movie. Since then, she has worked nonstop, wrapping action thrillers Triple Nine and Criminal, and is in talks for the comedy Keeping Up With the Joneses.

Chris Hemsworth, 31

He's risen from Australian TV to Thor, The Avengers and Snow White and the Hunstman (and its follow-up). And even though the thrillers Rush and Blackhat bombed, Hemsworth will follow May's Avengers: Age of Ultron with December's In the Heart of the Sea, in which he squares off against a giant whale.

Liam Hemsworth, 25

The younger Hemsworth is coming into his own as an action star. After a major supporting role in The Hunger Games movies and playing alongside action veterans in The Expendables 2, he's now getting ready to lead a studio action franchise, having nabbed the lead in Fox's Independence Day 2, set for summer 2016.

Charlie Hunnam, 34

With his seven seasons on FX's Sons of Anarchy concluded, Hunnam is like a horse out of the gate, having started shooting Warner Bros.' franchise hopeful Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur as the title character. He's also got the action dramas The Lost City of Z and The Mountain Between Us.
