Romanian star Anamaria Marinca is part of five-person group that will pick the 2016 European Shooting Stars.

Anamaria Marinca, the Romanian actress who shot to international fame as the star of Cristian Mungiu's 2007 Cannes Palme d'Or winning 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days, will help pick the next crop of European up-and-comers as a member of the jury for the 2016 European Shooting Stars.

Marinca will be part of a five-person jury that will select the 10 young European actors and actresses for the 2016 Shooting Stars. She's joined on the jury by Greek director Constantine Giannaris (Man at Sea), Italian producer Marta Donzelli (Sworn Virgin), Danish casting director Rie Hedegaard (The Celebration) and German film critic Tobias Kniebe.

The jury will select the 10 talents that will be presented at the European Film Promotion's 2016 Shooting Stars event during the Berlin Film Festival, which runs Feb. 11 to 21. Marinca has some experience with the event, having been selected herself as a Shooting Star in 2008.

The jury will announce the 2016 Shooting Stars in December. The group will be brought to Berlin to be wined, dined and networked with industry professionals.

The Shooting Stars program has a remarkable hit rate, with previous picks including A-listers such as Alicia Vicander, Daniel Bruhl, Carey Mulligan and Daniel Craig.
